Booking & Payment
We recommend booking at least 48 hours in advance to secure your preferred date. Same-day bookings are sometimes available depending on our schedule — don’t hesitate to message us, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
You can book through our website, or contact us directly via LINE (@setobiketaxi) or email (info@setobiketaxi.com). We’ll confirm your booking and send you payment instructions.
Pay online when you book we accept all major credit cards (processed via Stripe) and PayPay. No cash needed at pickup. Just hand us your bike and go.
Yes. If you cancel more than 24 hours before your scheduled pickup, you’ll receive a full refund. Cancellations within 24 hours are subject to a 100% cancellation fee. For full details, see our Refund Policy.
If conditions are unsafe (typhoon, heavy rain, strong wind warnings), either you or we can cancel the booking. You’ll receive a full refund or the option to reschedule — no penalty either way.
No — your transport fee is fully paid when you book. The only exception is if we find damage on a rental bike during our condition check and the rental shop asks us to collect a repair fee on their behalf. If that happens, we’ll explain everything clearly before any charge.
Pickup & Delivery
When we confirm your booking, we’ll send you a map pin and photo of the exact meeting point. No guessing, no searching — just follow the pin.
Common pickup areas include Onomichi Station, the Onomichi waterfront, Mukaishima, Setoda, Omishima, and Imabari Station. We also pick up directly from hotels and rental shops along the route.
Yes — you or someone on your behalf must be present at the pickup location to hand over the bike and luggage in person. We can’t collect bikes that are locked up and left unattended.
You don’t need to be at the drop-off point. We deliver directly to the rental shop or hotel and hand off to their staff.
Please contact us as soon as possible via LINE or email. We wait up to 20 minutes. If we can’t reach you after 20 minutes, the booking is unfortunately treated as a no-show.
It depends on the route. As a rough guide:
– Onomichi area to Omishima: approximately 45–60 minutes
– Onomichi to Imabari (or Imabari to Onomichi): approximately 90–120 minutes
– Pickups within the same area (e.g., Onomichi to Onomichi): approximately 30 minutes
These are estimates and may vary depending on traffic, ferry schedules, and the number of stops. We’ll give you a more specific window when we confirm your booking.
Yes. Just give us the hotel name and address when you book, and we’ll arrange pickup from the lobby or entrance. Please let your hotel know to expect us if you won’t be there for the drop-off.
Our operating hours are 9:00 to 18:00, but in most cases the bike shops close by 17:00 or 18:00 and we need time to deliver them. We’ll help you figure out the right timing when you book.
Bikes & Luggage
We transport:
– Road bikes
– Cross bikes
– Gravel bikes
– Touring bikes
– E-bikes (electric-assist bicycles)
We cannot accept mama-chari (city bikes), bikes with child seats, cargo bikes, or any bike we determine is unsafe for transport (e.g., severe frame damage or faulty brakes).
Up to 6 bikes per booking.
Yes — we offer luggage-only transport as well, subject to availability. Suitcases, backpacks, cycling bags, and similar travel items are all fine. Contact us with details and we’ll provide a quote.
E-bikes are accepted with their batteries installed as normal. We cannot transport loose lithium batteries that have been removed from a bike.
Yes. We carry cargo liability insurance. In the unlikely event your bike is damaged or lost due to our negligence during transport, our liability is capped at ¥200,000 per bike and ¥50,000 per luggage item.
We do a visual condition check on every bike at pickup. If we find any damage or mechanical issues, we contact the rental shop and follow their instructions. If they charge a repair fee, we collect it from you on their behalf and explain everything before any payment is made. This fee is separate from your transport charge.
Yes. For safety and legal reasons, we cannot transport cash, passports, hazardous materials, loose lithium batteries, live animals, or illegal items. Please carry valuables and important documents with you personally. See our Terms of Service for the complete list.
About the Service
Yes! You can book and communicate with us entirely in English. Our website, booking confirmations, and customer support are all available in English. We also communicate in Japanese if you prefer.
9:00 to 18:00, closed Tuesdays. You can submit a booking through our website anytime — we’ll respond during business hours.
Yes — we cover the entire route from Onomichi to Imabari and everywhere in between, including Mukaishima, Innoshima, Ikuchijima (Setoda), Omishima, Hakatajima, and Oshima.
We use a kei truck — compact enough to navigate the narrow island roads, and equipped to safely secure and transport your bike.
Yes, up to 6 bikes per booking. If your group is larger than 6, contact us and we’ll work out the logistics — we may be able to arrange multiple runs or coordinate with a partner operator.
Cancellation & Refunds
– More than 24 hours before pickup: free cancellation, full refund
– Within 24 hours of pickup: 100% cancellation fee, no refund
– No-show (not present within 20 minutes, no contact): 100% cancellation fee
Refunds are processed back to your original payment method (credit card or PayPay) within 7 business days. Credit card refunds may take a few additional days to appear on your statement depending on your card issuer.
No penalty for either side. We’ll offer a full refund or help you reschedule to another day.
